The UK government’s new Emergency Alerts
system is now live. The system will enable people to be contacted via
their mobile phone if lives are in danger.
You should keep alerts switched on for your own safety, but if you're
concerned about an alert sounding on a secret device, it is possible to
opt out.
Search your settings for ‘emergency alerts’.
Turn off ‘severe alerts’ and ‘extreme alerts’.
